Well, sadly, the Superhero Excelsior "film festival run" has come to an end. And what a blast it was. The blow-by-blow of all the fun is below. Getcher read on!
"Superhero Excelsior", the indie cult film and winner of four awards! (Best Feature; Best Comedy Screenplay; Audience Show Award; Producer Award). The independent movie classic dedicated to the world of comicbooks and the fans. Includes homages to Stan Lee, Lost In Space, Manga, X-Men, Batman, Anime, Star Wars, Star Trek, and many many more. In one of the funniest parodies of all time, the Mighty DIRK FACTOR and his faithful robot sidekick CYRO set out on a quest to foil the diabolical "World Domination Plot" of the insane criminal mastermind FARE VANITY. And what about The Fantastic O-Men?! It's the X-MEN meets LESLIE NIELSEN!
Shot on 35mm film in the great City of Philadelphia, Superhero Excelsior lights up everyone with it's super-storyline, super-cool look, and super-franchise characters. It swings like Spiderman! It's cool like X-Men! It's the Lord of its own Ring! And it revels in it's own sublime entropy! Huh? So, watch out world! OUR AMAZING ADVENTURES ON THE FILM FESTIVAL CIRCUIT!!!
PHILADELPHIA, PA. December 3. The SE Party. This was sooooo awesome! The hometown lunatics went nuts again for the movie and everyone had a blast. Drinks and laughs all around. What else is there to say but wow!
NEW YORK, NY. November 15. At Village East, this premiere was so incredible. Because even after the horrifying delay between screenings, the audience still went nuts over the film. Felmark was surrounded by fans and actually signed autograghs! It just gets more and more fulfilling each time.
HOLLYWOOD, CA. September 25. Okay...we premiered Superhero Excelsior, and as usual, it was a smash hit with everyone going nuts over the film, and the phone ringing off the hook, and blah, blah, blah. No surprise there. BUTT! there WAS a surprise this time. A pretty cool one. The audience. Anyone who attended at Laemmle saw the incredible audience response at the end of the film's credits. The audience just sat there, in the dark, mezmorized, staring at a blank black screen. It was so intense that we timed it. The audience sat there for almost 2 minutes, silent, and in the dark. Then they slowly began standing and applauding. Even the other filmmakers in the festival were applauding. "To see devotion born...is like nothing else". It just blew us away.
PHILADELPHIA, PA. August 19. Fancypants Cinema over at N.3rd, Northern Liberties. What can I say. DJ Scotty J pulled a fast one on Felmark Entertainment and held a surprise Felmark night. Playing our shorts and Superhero Excelsior. Felmark was in attendance and wow what a treat. People were so transfixed by the movie, that the venue actually had to take a pause 60 minutes into the screening for a restroom and drinks break. And in 2 minutes the audience was back and raring to go again. After all was said and done, the standing ovation we received this evening was so moving, Felmark barely got...

THE FILM FESTIVAL CIRCUIT (CON'T)
...through their thank you speech. Intellectuals, artists, goths, musicians, filmmakers, celebs, and just regular folks. Everyone cheered. It was so worth it.
PHILADELPHIA, PA. The FirstGlance 6 Film Festival at the Prince Music Theater was so explosive this day. It was our hometown premiere and the theater was completely full. Tickets were over sold with standing room only and a waiting list. The theater was packed to the gills, and we KILLED! Cast members flew in from LA, DEL, and NY for the premiere. The audience, celebs included, went ballistic. Cheering, applauding, accolades, and everything else that's good. And we can't even count how many other festival filmmakers were clammering to see our movie. Felmark became the toast of the town and the buzz of the festival. SE was even named for an audience award by the festival. And later that evening at an incredible afterparty at TRUST nightclub, everyone was talking about Superhero Excelsior! It was GREAT! A personal victory for Felmark. Thanks to our cast and crew, and thanks to Bill Ostroff, Festival Director, for a very smart festival. "SUPERHERO EXCELSIOR...The ONLY roll-n-roll, superhero comedy, EVER!!!"
MARQUETTE, MI. At Emerald City, our SE script won for Best Comedy Screenplay. Felmark wasn't able to attend. Bummer. BUT, woohoo! Another award! Man, they'll give these awards to ANYONE!
ALBANY, NY. We won an award! Best First Feature Film. Felmark wasn't able to attend the fest. But it still rocks!
PHILADELPHIA, PA. As a lark, we submitted the film to Penn's Student Film Club (a group of really cool film geeks). To our astonishment, we received a Producers Award!
